About Me...
Hello! My name is Anneta La Rusa
My training started back in Russia with an extensive history in Gymnastics, Synchronized Swimming and Latin Dance. These early experiences laid the foundation for my lifelong passion for dance and the arts.
I am no stranger to stage and screen performance having participated in numerous theatre productions (MacRobert Arts Centre, Stirling, Contact Theatre, Manchester), Salsa Dance Festivals (Afro Cuban Salsa Fiesta, Manchester Latin Festival, Plymouth Tropical Summer Festival, Salsa Feel The Heat…), Stage Productions (Oi Brasil, London), and filming projects (007 James Bond release "No Time to Die").
My passion for dance led me to explore various styles and techniques, including Contemporary, Afro, Ballet, and Cuban popular dance. However, it was my deep love for Cuban dance that inspired me to establish Studio Ile Ache in Glasgow City Centre, where I continue to promote all things dance, art and culture in Scotland.
As a professional dancer and dedicated Cuban Salsa enthusiast with years of experience both on and off the dance floor, I'm thrilled to share my love for Cuban dance with you.
Whether you're a complete beginner taking your first steps or an experienced dancer looking to refine your skills, I'm here to support and inspire you on your dance path.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that the foundation of dance is built upon mastering the basics. With the motto, "basics are the first thing we learn and the last thing we master," I emphasize the importance of establishing a strong core skill set before progressing to more advanced techniques.
My teaching approach focuses on instilling confidence in my students from the outset, ensuring they have a solid understanding of fundamental concepts before exploring their own personal style and flair.
My courses are designed to be practical and dynamic, enabling students to implement what they've learned and truly experience the joy and camaraderie of Salsa dancing. I believe that dance is a way of life and encourage my students to practice regularly, emphasizing real-world application and experience.
Recognizing the importance of immersing oneself in the salsa social world, I organize events and invite guest instructors and musicians to provide my students with a wholistic experience of Cuban culture.
Join me on this journey of self-expression, creativity, and cultural discovery through the art of dance.
